Summer brights

Fresh and summery. Printed cotton flats in an array of colours. The shoes are cotton inside and out, making it ideal for the hot weather. The cotton allows the feet to breathe making for cool summer feet. The shoes are available at my stall at the neighbourgoods market at the old biscuit mill in Woodstock every Saturday from 9.00-14.00. Cost of the shoes are R350.

Hallo

I have not blogged in a while and today I'm going to blog about some of the things that inspire me. Hope it will inspire you.

Firstly

I have been thinking of bringing out a men's belt range. Something simple and elegant.
Taking inspiration from this styling:

Secondly

The Adriaan Kuiters menswear label, clean neat lines with a bit of nostalgia. The name comes from his grandfather who was a dapper dresser and like his grandson knew about style.
Watch out for the Adriaan Kuiters ladies collection coming soon.

Thirdly

You have to go and see the documentary 'Valentino:the last emperor' It is beautiful, funny and sad all at the same time. The documentary starts on the eve of the fashion house's 45th anniversary and the big question, will Valentino retire.

If anything go and see the film just to see how proper runway couture is made BY Hand, yes every dress every bead by hand

Luxury

Soft camel coloured suede shoe with a creamy yellow grey trim. The shoe is lined with the same suede as the upper, making this shoe the ultimate luxury shoe. R 1200

Customising

A customer customized their shoes by choosing to have a black leather front with a dark brown suede back and to top it off a bright red binding at the back.

Ladies brown suede with red stitching and red lining. This shoe has a pointy toe for a more feminine look.

These shoes are part of my men's summer collection. I will have them at my stall every Saturday at the Woodstock neighbour goods market in the design tent from 9h00-14h00. These are all limited editions. I will have my fabric and leather swatches at my stall and you can come and choose your own colour combinations.

Each belt costs R450, they can be worn as a waist belt or a pants belt.

Adrian Kuiters and Ninon shoes

Keith Henning from Adriaan Kuiters www.adriaankuiters.withtank.com invited me to do a shoot with him. Here is the final product. Above the model is wearing the David style in brown leather, a classic lace up based on the veldskoen.


Here the model is wearing Jeremy, an easy wearing slip on that works best worn with out socks.
In this picture the model is wearing Bobby a soft lace up, also best worn with out socks.
Here is Bobby again.

All the shoes in these photos are made from leather and are leather lined.
The cost of the David is R750, the Jeremy is R800 and Bobby is R850.
You can find both myself and Keith at the Biscuit mill market in Woodstock every Saturday from 9:00-14:00.
